About this event
This is a drive to and a tour through the Templeton Distillery in Templeton, Iowa including a stop for lunch in Audubon.
We will meet at the Machine Shed/Hotel Renovo (11167 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, IA) for the driver"s meeting at 8:00 with the first group departing around 8:20, the second group led by Bob and Linda Timmerman will be leaving around 8:30.. After a short break at the Casey's in Panora we will continue to Audubon where we will meet up for lunch at the Feed Mill restaurant. After lunch we will drive to Templeton for a guided tour through the Templeton Distillery at 1:00.
The menu at the Feed Mill will be limited to sandwiches, the reason for this is the time required for lunch with a large group and ease of the restaurant in providing food in a timely manner. I would advise you to bring cash to pay for lunch. Also this is "Truck Day" in Audubon, not sure what this is....
This is more of a scenic drive with a few curvy roads....
There will be a $5.00 charge per person to tour the Templeton Distillery, this includes a sampling of Templeton Rye at the end of the tour.
The route directions are complete and I will be sending them to you a week before the drive, you will need to print the directions if you want to use them on the drive.
Be sure to sign the waiver when you arrive Saturday morning. Like on previous drives you will draw a number when you sign the waiver that will determine which start group you are in
Please note the start time has changed, this is because we now have two groups going and we needed to adjust the start time on the front end of the drive. (The 1:00 tour time at the Templeton distillery will not change)
